Welcome to Art in the Bay, an engaging art studio nestled in Fish Hoek, in the charming Deep South of Cape Town. Our studio provides a nurturing environment for adults keen on learning to paint with water-based acrylics on canvas.
Henri Matisse declared that creativity takes courage. That courage begins with taking the first tentative steps towards doing something new, which can feel really scary, like putting the first brush strokes down on a new canvas.
Actually, this process is a skill which can be learnt by both beginners or by those who just haven’t painted for a while.
At Art on the Bay, we teach you a toolbox of techniques so that you are equipped to paint the subject of your choice. A common comment we hear from our new students is, “Wow, I can’t believe I painted that!”, and the rest, they say, is history!
