Are you ready to add a second skill to your toolbox?
SCUMBLING: Meet the technique that’s about to become your new best friend in your personal creative journey! Scumbling allows you to slowly build up layers of colour, depth, and incredible texture in a painting. It’s like adding a sprinkle of magic that brings your paintings to life with energy and movement.
Artists use this technique in a variety of ways. Mainly, scumbling is done by adding small dots of paint in a variety of harmonious colours to a little area of your canvas and then, with a clean, round, dry brush, you lightly powder the colours together, creating soft, muted blends of color layered on top of each other. It’s a perfect technique for clouds and out of focus areas.
Give it a try – you won’t look back!
